Sports Physical Therapy

This type of treatment targets joint mobility, muscle performance, and overall movement efficiency. We apply techniques such as joint mobilization, soft tissue manipulation, dynamic stretching, active and passive range of motion, compression, vibration, and cross-fiber friction to support recovery, enhance flexibility, and optimize athletic performance.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a modern, evidence-based treatment where a licensed physical therapist inserts very thin, sterile needles directly into muscle trigger points-tight bands of muscle that cause pain and restrict movement.

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy, also known as Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT), is an advanced, non-surgical treatment that uses focused acoustic waves to stimulate healing in muscles, tendons, and ligaments

Sports and Medical Massage

This type of massage focuses on joint mobilization and joint manipulation. We use techniques such as vibration, shaking, compression, broadening strokes, direct pressure, cross-fiber friction,  range of motion, and stretching to achieve this.

BFR- Bloodflow Restriction

At McKenzie Sports Physical Therapy, we offer Bloodflow Restriction (BFR) Training—a cutting-edge, evidence-backed technique that accelerates muscle growth, enhances recovery, and minimizes joint stress.

Normatec Compression

Normatec Compression Therapy is an advanced recovery technique that uses pneumatic (air) compression technology to improve blood flow, reduce muscle soreness, and accelerate healing after intense physical activity or injury.

Meditation

Meditation is a mindful, evidence-based practice where individuals use focused attention, often on the breath, sensations, or a mantra to calm the mind, reduce stress, and enhance emotional clarity.

Meet Our Team

Dr. Chris McKenzie, PT, DPT

He was a sprinter as a Junior in high school, soaring over hurdles at the State track meet and gaining lots of D1 university interest. After a hamstring injury caused a set-back his Senior year, college interest shuttered, and Chris’ dream of a division 1 college scholarship was gone in the blink of an eye…from one. preventable. injury. A repeat injury in college ended his career and Olympic hopes for good.  It wasn’t until Chris attended physical therapy school, that he learned he was the victim of poor therapy and sports rehabilitation.

Dr. Pete Miller, PT, DPT

In high school and my early days at Saint Joseph’s University, I usually had difficulty in thinking about what I was going to pursue as my career. There was one thing that I knew I wanted my career to have, and that was to work with people. Being personable and empathetic, I find interest and ease in communicating and collaborating with others, especially when discussing and helping them through their problems.

Dr. Emily Maseth, PT, DPT

Emily earned her Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science from West Chester University. She then attended Neumann University to obtain her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree. To Emily, the meaning of becoming a DPT is so much more than the three letters behind her name. It represents going through adversity, regaining her passion and desire to make a difference, and the ability to use her story to help others get through a difficult time in their life, whether it’s an injury or losing sight of their “why.” You can read Emily’s full bio by clicking below.

Dana Yanas, LMT

My name is Dana Yanas, and I am a Licensed Massage Therapist. Massage therapy, to me, is an art, a gift, a way to heal, and a devoted service to help anyone who desires better health and tranquility in their life. I began my journey in 2016 when I moved to Colorado for a life in the mountains. After a season packed full of hiking and snowboarding, I realized that massage therapy was a necessity of life and my calling to make a difference in people’s lives. Soon after receiving my license in massage therapy, I had the opportunity to do body work on athletes, and it became clear that deep tissue and therapeutic approaches were my specialties. In 2020, I moved back to Philadelphia to be closer to my family and try my hand at living the city lifestyle. In the heart of our hustle and bustling city, I worked alongside physical therapists who share similar passions and interests to benefit our patients. Through this experience, I learned additional helpful techniques and other modalities to help those in need. I look forward to meeting with you and sharing your journey to a happy and healthy life.
